So our anniversary was yesterday. Melody worked until 6 so I had a few hours to get things ready for the evening. We had a "Treasure Hunt" theme for the evening and when Melody got home there was a discretely placed treasure map that led us to dinner and flowers, to some Nestle Treasures candy (highly recommended by the way, but kind of expensive), then to the movie theater to see National Treasure II (National Treasure, get it?) and then came back to find some gold candy and a relaxing foot spa. Way sweet, if you ask me. Don't tell Melody, but Brittney really had most of the ideas for the evening.
So here's a funny story. Our apartment has been cold this whole winter and we've been trying to tough it out because we thought we were just wimps, but once we finally got a thermometer in here we found out that the temperature gets down into the 50s. So we finally called our landlord to come look at it and he came last night to fix it. It just so happened that it was at the exact same time we were having our "romantic," candle-lit dinner. Thanks guys. We had just sat down for dinner, candles and roses on the table, lights dim for the occasion and here come the landlord and maintenance guy in and out of the apartment several times to talk to us, and to see if things were working. We got a good laugh out of it, but extremely awkward for the poor guys that had to come interrupt us again. We thought it was funny anyway.

Happy anniversary, friends. I especially liked the "You are my treasure".
How creative--that must have been fun. I was on my deathbed for our anniversary. Chelsea has been such a good sport in letting us postpone the celebration.
As an aspiring doctor, how do you feel about a universal health care system in America? I'm just trying to gain perspective and learn about different sides (Paul has inspired more political interest in me -- there's one marriage-induced similarity I suppose).
